1975 Chevy Silverado, purchased for $400. It was running, but had a really healthy sounding rod knock on the #1 cylinder crank journal.
Here is a shot of the side, not too bad, typical rust
Shot of the rear, I have big plans for this section of the truck, I plan to
smooth the tail gate, french in caddy tail lights and license/back up
light unit, and top it off with a smooth roll pan. Should look sweet!
Shot
of the nasty interior complete with an unknown yet very gooey/sticky
substance on the steering wheel....awesome..! windshield was
trashed, immediately replaced because it wouldnt pass inspection. The
original dash is completely gone, including the factory steel supports,
replaced with the dash you see in the above pics, interior is going to
be very sweet!
Another interior shot, bench seat replaced with seperate custom seats,
fold down 3rd seat that doubles as a console in the middle are what is
planned.
Headliner was removed. full custom headliner with a center overhead console are going in.
Nasty...but
it ran. motor will be totally rebuilt, Its a 350, will be bored .030
with a mild street cam, street manifold and a new Edelbrock carb.
Some
motor details, mechanical fan has been replaced with electric, new
water pump aluminum pulleys. created lots more room in there.
Guage section. this is only rough fiberglass/fabrication stage. I wanted a simple hot rod feel to it.
Another
shot of the dash with the steering column cutout. It will not
have the sketched flames on it, I was just messing around with ideas.
Test fitting the new Equius speedo, off white face, black numbers.
Center and passenger side unit rough framed and glassed. Round spots will be A/C vents.
Shot of the top dash peice being formed, glassed and filler. this will be foamed and covered soon.
Got
up on a ladder and took a shot with most of the pieces laying together,
not assembled, and still no lower steering column piece. |
